Panel Discussion: The Importance of English Language

 Learning to speak and write in English in this age of globalization is necessary, especially if we want to compete in the knowledge-based world. Miss Bekhal B. K., Head of the ELT department, and Hakar Ahmed, a second-year undergraduate student majoring in English Language Teaching (ELT), were panel members. Freshmen Induction Day class of 2024

  

On December 12th, 2023, the College of Education, in collaboration with the College of Law, held an induction event for its freshman class of 2023. The event gave freshers the opportunity to get to know each other and faculty members and find out more about the college so they were fully prepared to start their journey in the college for four years. The event comprised several activities which welcomed freshers and supported them to meet their tutors.  The president of Knowledge University Prof. Dr Kayhan Z. Ghafoor gave a welcome speech to the freshmen class of 2023, followed by the speech of Miss Bekhal B K, HOD.  There were different activities done by both ELT and Law students, like performing a play and playing a piece of music.   Below is the summary of HOD's speech:

“Hello, class of 2023. Welcome to your school, your campus, and your home for the next four years. It is both an honour and a privilege to stand before you today and welcome you to this remarkable community........ I will conclude by offering you some simple advice on how to make the most of your experience here at Knowledge University. Share your knowledge and skills; don’t keep them to yourself. Challenge yourself and your friends daily. Embrace one another’s passions for children, education, communities, policy, and practice. Absorb everything. And above all, have a bit of fun.”

Safeen High School Students visited College of Education

 On Sunday, December 10, 2023, students from Safeen High School visited our college to take a scientific tour of the department. Consequently, Mis Bekhal B.K., the Head of the Department, greeted them kindly and provided them with pertinent information about the department. She also elucidated the necessary competencies required to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.

Participating in a panel discussion

Aram Azad, a third-year undergraduate student majoring in English Language Teaching (ELT), was selected as the representative from Knowledge University to participate in a panel discussion on matters concerning Kurdish students at the University of Baghdad. The panel featured Mohammed Shai' Al-Sudani as the guest speaker. Aram has a promising future with many more achievements to come. Congratulations on this achievement. Here are some photos:

Tenth Dialogue in World in Conversation

 Today, December 1, 2023, Knowledge University students participated in their tenth dialogue on the social problem of

National Workshop ELT

 The College of Education conducted a national workshop on Shaping the way we Teach.  Mrs Mayssa A M (faculty member), Miss Bekhal B K, the head of the department of English, and Miss Valan A H (faculty member) were the keynote speakers. The workshop took place on the university campus and was aimed at teaching learners how to improve their basic language skills such as reading, speaking, writing, and listening through the use of CTL (Contextual Teaching and learning).


During the workshop, the participants were asked some questions regarding their learning enviornemt.   They were taught how CTL helps them to improve their learning process. Additionally, the participants had the opportunity to practice their speaking and listening skills through variety of activities and exercises.

Twenty-fourth (Last ) dialogue -Spring Semester

   Today, April 25, 2024.   Knowledge University students took part in their twenty-fourth, i.e., the last dialogue for this academic year. ...
