Today, 20th May 2023, the Head of the  ELT department in the College of Education, Miss Bekhal B K, along with a number of ELT  students visited the Regional Minister for Components Affairs, Mr Ayden Maruf.   During the visit, Mr Maruf gave the floor to the students to raise some questions regarding gaining scholarships.  Students also gained information about various educational opportunities and YTB scholarships funded by the Turkish government.

An Inspection Visit

 On 28th May 2023, an inspection committee of four members headed by Prof Dr Afrah Yaseen Muhammed from the Faculty of Educational Psychology of Salahaddin University visited the Faculty of Education with the aim of opening a new department, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences.   The committee had a physical verification of the infrastructure and available facilities with evidence and that they were rest assured the faculty has the ability and capacity to run the academic programme properly. 
During the visit, a meeting was held within the framework of agreements reached during talks between the President of the university, Prof. Dr. Kayhan Z Gh, the Head of the ELT department, Miss Bekhal B  K, and the inspection members headed by Prof. Dr. Afrah Yaseen Muhammed.

Graduation Projects Defense Day 2022-23

 UG4 Arts students are very close to be graduated and start their career lives.  Knowledge University/ College of Arts/ Department of English held BA graduation project defense on  27th of May 2023.    Below is the speech of the Head of the department, Miss Bekhal B K:

"Many congratulations on this huge accomplishment, dear Arts Finals!  It has been wonderful witnessing your BA graduation projects in the making from close by and seeing you very successfully present your works in the defense days.  All leading up to this special and unique moment!  Your perseverance over the years has finally paid off! Again a huge congratulations on completing your projects.  Best wishes in all your future endeavours, wherever these may take you!  Very proud of you all! Will miss you!"

Noble Institute Paid a Visit to the College of Education

    Today, Sunday, May 21, 2023, students from Noble Institute paid a visit to our college to have a scientific tour of the department.  For that reason, they were warmly welcomed by Miss Bekhal B K , HOD, she gave them a seminar on the university in general and the college in particular and explained the skills they need to get a BA degree in Education.  They attended ELT lectures.

CONDOLENCES

 It is our deepest regret to announce that  Dr Faud's uncle passed away yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr Faud and his family during this tragic time. May God grant his late uncle paradise. 

 

EXAM DAY TIPS

  

EXAM DAY TIPS / SECOND SEMESTER / ELT- KNU

Below are the exam rules that should be taken into consideration seriously by ELT students:

1-Make sure you have everything you need in the exam halls like pens and stuff.

2-Read all the questions carefully.

3-Try to stay for the whole allocated time as much as you can.

4-Try to relax for 5 minutes and take a deep breath before looking at the exam questions.

5-Try to read the questions quite carefully.

6- Try to focus on your answers. 

7-Do not spend too long time on one question.

8-Move on to the next question when needed.

9-Try to review all your answers more than 5 times each as you might forget something or might remember the correct answers.

10-Students' ID Cards should be visible during exams.

11-Do not wear smartwatches.

12-Put your cell phones on silent mode.

13-Try to be in the exam halls 10 minutes before the start of the examination as being late for 5 minutes will prevent you from having the exam. 

14-All must have a blue card. 

15- Spelling, grammatical mistakes and punctuation marks matter. Missing each will lead to losing marks as you are all English department students.  

16-For answering critical thinking questions, all steps of essay structure must be applied.

International Development Manager of ASIC Visits Knowledge University

 Today, May 9th, 2023 Mr Geoff Boston (The International Development Manager of ASIC) paid a visit to Knowlege University, In which he met the Senior management staff.  Miss Bekhal B K (head of ELT) gave some insightful points regarding the university in general and the college in particular.

A Visit to the U S Consulate

 Today, 2nd May 2023, the Head of the  ELT department in the College of Education, Miss Bekhal B K, along with a number of UG2 students visited the U S Consulate General.   They were received by Acting Public Affairs Officer Jason Gallian. During the visit Mr Gallian gave an intensive presentation regarding the U S consulate and then gave the floor to the students to raise some questions that they had regarding the U S consulate and America in general.  Students also gained information about various educational opportunities and cultural exchange programs such #IYLEP, #Fulbright, and other programs that are funded by the U.S. government.

Second Annual Book Collection Campaign 2023

 The Faculty of Arts and Education launched its second annual  book collection campaign for its students on May 2nd,2023 to promote the faculty's library resources, with the slogan "Before you think Read"

The book collection campaign was organized to bring more books to the students in order to enhance their knowledge.  The faculty members and the students donated their unwanted and unused books, of all types of books-fiction, non-fiction, textbooks, children's literature, encyclopedias and many others, to the faculty through the campaign.  The collection was a huge success and so many students got involved.
